The famous talk show host Ellen De Generes once said, " Philippines has the best singers in the world" and I believe that. i have been friends to a lot of Filipinos ever since I can remember. I grew up singing with them and I have been a witness on how talented their race are when it comes to Music. But why is that almost all Filipinos enjoy singing, or listening to music? It is best to start your morning listening to the chirp of birds, while they spread their wings to fly, and hear the gust of wind created by their wings. The sound of crickets at night keeps you alive in the wee hours of the morning. The rustling of leaves in one hot afternoon, after they have fallen down from a tree. In every drop of rain, in every cry of a newborn, music is heard.

According to history, Filipinos and Music have been inseparable because it is a second nature to them. The farmers singing while they are plowing the fields, so that they will not feel the scorching son, and the heavy loads of farm work. They happily finish their job. While singing together, work becomes like a child's play to them.

It is not surprising that Filipinos are becoming known in Asia, and the whole world for their exceptional skills in Music.  Many people around the world look up to them and were inspired by their sheer talent. It is often that they win the musical competitions they join not only in Asia, but around the globe.

Bruno Mars, Arnel Pineda, Charice Pempengco, and Apple De Ap of Black Eyed Peas are just one f the few Filipino singers who have been known internationally. Lea Salonga who won the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award, and the most coveted Tony Awards for her role as Kim in the musical play Miss Saigon. She is the first Asian to win the said title, that only proved more of Filipinos musical genius.

Music can charm to soothe a savage beast, to soften rocks, or to bend a knotted oak. Music has been around in our lives. Race, gender, or age does not limit people on how music can change a person's life. It is used as a good medium for therapy. It can be so relaxing, and so endearing for your ears after a day's hard work.

Plato once said Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.
