If An Apple Stylus for iPad Interest You, You May Be In Luck
There is one piece of technology that has been increasingly popular over the years - the stylus. Whether it is a Microsoft Surface or the Galaxy Note, the stylus plays an important role with many popular devices on the market. Apple is one company that has not released a stylus of their own. Instead, they rely on an existing market for third-party styluses for the iPad lineup. An example of a very popular accessory is the Pencil by Fiftythree. These accessories focus on notetaking and drawing.
But if you are an Apple fan hoping to one day see an Apple stylus, you may be a fan of this recent report from Business Insider.
Apple has previously tested multiple prototypes for a stylus intended to work with the iPad, a former Apple engineer who requested to remain anonymous told Business Insider. At least three different stylus prototypes were present at Apple about four years ago, this person said.
Business Insider's source went on to say that the prototypes presented "different approaches to the stylus."
This may not come as a total surprise if you follow Apple news and rumors. KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo recently said that he believes Apple is working on a stylus to be released this year. Combine that with this report, as well as the fact that Apple has numerous patent filings for styluses, and an Apple stylus just might seem like a real possibility.
If the Cupertino tech giant does indeed release a stylus, it would be nice to see it work with both the iPhone as well as the iPad lineup (the iPhone 6 Plus is in the phablet category, so I can see a pretty decent market for a stylus - similar to the popularity of the Galaxy Note S Pens). However, let's keep in mind that technology companies experiment with new ideas and prototypes quite frequently, and many of these ideas never see the light of day in the marketplace.
The most famous Apple figure, Steve Jobs, once said that "Nobody wants a stylus."
