iPhone 7 new features: New charger

In August 2014, rumours about a new iPhone charger emerged, suggesting that the USB part of the charger could be reversible, just like the Lightning connector.

A video showing what's believed to be a new charger for a future with a reversible fully reversible USB Lightning cable emerged on the web earlier in 2014. It shows the USB being plugged in to the adapter both ways, in the same way that the Lightning connector itself is reversible.

The Specification of The next IPhone 7 Concept 2015

The Specification of The next IPhone 7 Concept 2015

Since we live near the place where some Apple products are manufactured and I have a lot of our friends working for Apple everybody is asking us if we have some rumours about the new generation of iPhones.

No, we don’t!

First of all the people that we know in Apple are the most reserved fearful and paranoic about their NDAs… that you could ever met. So if you ask them where to buy an iPhone they tell you that maybe there are some shops with a white logo representing a fruit somewhere outside.

But actually the USPTO (United States Patend and Trademark Office) is a wonderful source of “espionage” of what will be the future of the last and least phone by Cupertino (it’s clear that Apple is going to abandon the phone as it is intended today). So we collected all the patents of the year to give you some clues of what will be the future of mobile devices.

As usual feel free to think that a certain percentage of this patents is going to be left at the RD stage and another one is to create diversion for the competitors.

Enjoy:

Refocusable Photos

November 2013: patent to allow users to refocus a photograph after it’s been taken. Such technology is already used in the Lytro camera, with which you can take a photograph and later choose how you want that photo to be focused.

3D Photos

December 2013: patent for stereoscopic images that appear to have depth. It could be capable of selecting two suitable photos and combining them to create a stereoscopic image.

Interchangable Camera Lenses

January 2014: two patents for attaching lenses and camera modules to mobile devices. A second patent called “Magnetic add-on lenses with alignment ridge,” offers an alternative method of attaching new camera lenses to the iPhone using magnets. A third one is called “Back panel for a portable electronic device with different camera lens options” and suggest a cover with interchangeable lenses.

Curved Touchscreen

April 2014: patent for curved touch screen, which could mean that the iPhones could have a curved display.

Waterproof

March 2014: patent waterproof internal components based on a protective coating, preventing them from being damaged in the event that liquid manages to make its way beneath the chassis.

Attack Detection

March 2014: patent to protect iPhone owners when they’re in distress, it’s titled “Mobile emergency attack and failsafe detection”, describes a feature that combines software and hardware to create an emergency services request system.

Super Photos

May 2014: patent for “Extra Resolution” photos thanks to optical image stabilisation.

Side Display

May 2014: patent for “Electronic devices with sidewall displays,” which, if ever used, could mean our iPhones and iPads may one day have displays around the sides and edges, as well as on the front. The patent suggests that the sidewall displays could be an extension of the main touchscreen, and they could have interactive or touch sensitive portions.

Smart Button

May 2014: patent for a touch sensitive button that could help prevent accidental inputs (power, sleep, menu, volume and other functions). The patent covers a physical button that also has a touch sensor, which would know when a user’s finger is touching it rather than another object.

Face Unlock

December 2014: patent for a control using face detection and recognition to unlock the phone.

Flexible

January 2015: patent for a flexible phone to make it more durable and shock resistant. The user could open a specific application by bending it in a particular way, or even use the flexibility to control a game.

The concept image of the cover was designed by Fabio Basile.

iPhone seven thought is truly a series of renders, that feel a trifle blocky
