10 Stunning Projects coming up in Dubai
Dubai’s Museum of the Future
The Museum of the Future is going to WOW you with revolutionary technology. In addition to the serving standard role of showcasing cutting edge technology, the museum of the future is expected to bring together the most intelligent and aspiring minds in the world – to give them the opportunity to experiment, innovate and create.
The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, has established the Dubai Foundation to oversee and ensure the construction of the architectural masterpiece.
The Museum’s Motto is ‘See the Future, Create the Future’. Dubai’s Museum of the Future has been designed by veteran architect, Shaun Killa. He is known for his work on the Burj-Al-Arab and the 21st Century Tower amongst others.
Like most of the majestic buildings that beautify Dubai’s skyline, the Museum of the Future is designed to stand out and dazzle. The museum is being built on Sheikh Zayed Road at a cost of 500 AED, and will open for the public in 2017.
Bluewaters Island
Bluewaters Island is being built 500 metres off the exotic Dubai Marina at a cost of 6 billion AED. Construction of the Bluewaters Island began in 2013 and is scheduled to conclude in 2018. The project is being helped by Dubai’s Meraas Holding while the Dutch firm Van Oord, popular for its work on the Palm Jumeirah is handling dredging.
The Bluewaters Island project will add another three million visitors to Dubai’s bursting tourist influx, which is why the Roads and Transport Authority is also pumping up efforts to expand infrastructural capacity in parallel. Complimenting expansions include bridges, hotels, restaurants, etc.
The Bluewaters Island project also includes the Dubai Eye – destined to claim the world record for the largest Ferris wheel. Once completed and open to the general public, the Dubai Eye will stand over 500 feet and give visitors a majestic view of Dubai’s architectural landmarks; including the Burj Al Arab, the Burj Khalifa and the Palm Jumeirah.
The Dubai Frame
The Dubai Frame is rectangular structure that will stand at a height of 150 metres with a width of 93 metres upon completion. The structure is part of Dubai’s preparation for the World Expo 2020.
The Dubai Frame was designed by Architect Fernando Donis in a competition organized by the Dubai Municipality. The design came out first amongst 926 proposals that were submitted and is meant to “capture the ever-changing portrait of this city”.
The Dubai Frame will give visitors a stunning view of old and new Dubai. Visitors will be able to see the Emirates Towers and Burj Khalifa from one side, while the Deira, Umm Harare and Karama will be visible from the opposite end. People passing by Bur Dubai and Shaikh Zayed Road will be able to see the two pillars of the Dubai Frame rising towards the sky as the project rapidly approaches its completion deadline.
