Happy New Year Technology World! The Superbowl of Technology is here. The fabulous annual gathering takes place January 6-9 of 2015 and kicks off the Press Day today, in Sin City, Las, Vegas, NV. Technology has proven, once again, to never disappoint. Technology is always reinventing itself and these are exciting times. The world's first hover board, by Hendo, makes its appearance this year.
UHD TV Market expected to be 1/3 of new TV purchases for 2015, Samsung is leading the pack in ALL consumer device sales. I am a fan. I cheer Samsung on as the are always ground breaking and really attractive to everyday people. They also make themselves accessible to the public instead of trying to create elitist platforms for those who can afford it or want to be in the group like Apple and Microsoft do currently. It is no wonder why Samsung was the favorite coming out this year.
Only 2% of Americans own Smart Home Devices - and educated consumer might know more about purchasing devices that make living easier. This is the attack mission for Samsung and honestly all they have to do is make it widely attractive enough - they have custom designs by Yves Baher for the new curved TV displays. Quantum Dot Nano Crystals (new Nano Technology term) takes the place of the last pixel terminology - we will just say it looks totally real. They look cool and and smart too. That goes right into one of my favorite hashtags, #SmartIsTheNewCool(This is last year's 4K Curved 105 inch Screen) FYI, 4K is already dated because 8K is out already and so is 40K - no kidding.
MILK VR (Virtual Reality) - comes out this year using the Oculus headset experience. I knew when I tried on Oculus that this would revolutionize They are partnering with television shows, as they eluded to by bringing the director for, "The Walking Dead" on the showcase stage during the presentation. This also has its own network that enables you to have daily content updates. This is sort of like a Netflix for virtual content. Brilliant! They went beyond OLED to SUHD TV (Samsung, Stunning, Spectacular Contrast) This this display looks like you can walk into the the screen. That screen can be 105 inches also and is bendable Flat/Curved/Flat, anyway you choose. Like Burger King, you can have it your way.
They developed their appliances for the kitchen with chefs hands on to have theVirtual Flame that will show the heat intensity for the person cooking. This is actually sort of hot, I like to cook. Not sure if I love it more than the maglev cookware, but it sounds really cool. There is some cooking tablet they created which seemed pretty cool, as it was presented by the French chefs.
Everyone is in high anticipation of the Samsung devices for 2015. I have personally waited years for the devices that I know are coming out this year and being released at CES 2015 (hopefully). I have waited for the next Samsung phone that I will purchase because, honestly, I knew it was coming. The last Samsung phone the I purchased was the Nexus. No kidding. I am not the person that is going to go out and purchase a device because it came out. I am the person who worked in the wireless manufacturing corporate office and knows there is another one coming out right after they release this. I don't jump to purchase only to play with them.
This is the year I expect to see the TRANSPARENT phone. The device I have wanted to see for ages. I actually suggested this at Nokia USA when I was there back in 2007. I think I was sort of laughed at, but all the designs I wanted to see are being released this year. Swarovski teams up with Misfit to create the ONLY techwearable the really looks feminine! Someone is paying attention! Bling!
The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6, which honestly, I am almost afraid to get because in three months something even better will be out. This leaks show this weird metal plate for the back of the phone - but I only care if it has the CURVE. When I was at the Oculus booth one of the ladies had a Samsung Curve (not the Edge, even though it is cool). I am hoping the curved device is what will be released this year and the Transparent device. I held it and it bends - that was pretty neat. I hope for both. I would actually spend the money on the roll out if they do release them this year, again, I am just afraid of the upgrade. I am the victim of Nexus. When Samsung released it, I had to have it. The came right behind that and released the Galaxy S series. I was mad so I never did get another. Instead I created my own Phablets (Phone +Tablet).I have multiples of those so now I am really ready for the new release. The phablet devices marry in both spaces so that is much more functional for me. I am really hoping for that transparent device.JIBO - it is time for the consumer ROBOTS to enter the US. Just say YES! JIBO is the consumer bot created by a robotics professor from MIT, a lady named Cynthia Breazeal you have to learn about JIBO. The beginning of the US future in consumer robotics, LATE, but it is a beginning, none the less we are finally catching up. We are making an effort to catch up at least. (I am getting one of these mark my words). #InvestInRoboticsAnother big hit to look for at are these new batteries that charge up in 30 seconds for mobile devices. YES, one step closer to always being charged! Look upSTOREDOT.
LG launched a TWO LOAD washing machine for great time efficiency. I could see people really going haywire about that. People with children might do back flips for that. They should have released that before the holidays. That is a college student's fantasy.
3D Doodle Pens are hot again. They may retail around $100, so this may be the least expensive technology item released in 2015. Draw the world around you, literally.
I am watching this on CNET LIVE so ZTE is up now with a 7 inch phablet called Max Pro Plus for only $199 that runs on Cricket, with an all day battery and a new tablet projector, the X Pro 2. This device seems pretty cool (anti-glare, auto focus, on a 5 screen touch screen display, audio conferencing, video conferencing, wireless capability and more).
Sony's X900 thin 4K television is too thin and dangerously so. Unless there is so unbreakable property - I would not purchase it unless I knew it would not break. It is cute but who needs an ultra thin jumbo screen. I am mad at them for, "The Interview". I decided not to blog about that because I feel like it was a scam. I did love "Annie".
A lot of media are covering this year's CES 2015 LIVE, like CNET.com, Mario Armstrong, BDPA, Bloomberg TV, Endgadget, CNN Technology, Tech Cruch and more - just Google it!
I am Cairo Qween, Tech Socialite and I simply LOVE technology and I am using my digital currency. That is just my two cents!
