Slow Samsung Galaxy Note 2 After Update
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and after several updates over the past 18 months, my phone started to slow down to a crawl. Let's say that I would touch a letter on the keyboard and it would register couple of seconds later.
I found the following instructions on "Wiping Cache" that I followed and my Galaxy Note 2 is now as fast as the day I bought it 18 months ago!
Wipe cache partition

If the phone is not working correctly, you may need to master reset it and also clear the cache partition. These two resets clear different parts of the phone storage. Unlike a master reset, wiping the cache partition does not delete your personal data.

To wipe the cache partition, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:
    • Volume Up key
    • Home key
    • Power key
  3. When 'GALAXY Note II' appears on the screen, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold theVolume Up key and the Home key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
  6. Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  7. With 'reboot system now' highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.

Read more about Samsung Galaxy S5
The launch of a new Samsung Galaxy S device is always big news and theSamsung GalaxyS5 is no exception, and as usual the new Galaxy S is bigger and faster than any of its predecessors.
The display on the Galaxy S5 has crept up to a 5.1″ 1080 x 1920 pixel full HDpanel, slightly bigger than the 5.0″ display on the Galaxy S4 and a lot bigger than the original Galaxy S from 2010 which had a 4.0″ panel. Inside is a monstrouslyfast 2.5GHz quad-core processor, although the RAM is just 2GB compared with some rivals that now have 3GB. The Galaxy S5 features 16GB or 32GB of internal storage plus a microSD slot.
On the back is a 16 megapixel camera which is capable of UHD video recording, or to put it another way 4K or 2160p. This makes it one of only a very smallnumber of devices that can do this, but to be honest your playback options for this type of very high-resolution media are pretty limited at the moment. Perhaps new handsets such as the Galaxy S5 will nudge things forwards though.
The camera has been enhanced by the usual Samsung trickery, and it has what is apparently the world’s fastest autofocus time of 0.3 seconds, plus a high dynamic range for improved colour capture and a novel selective focus feature. But despite the relatively high pixel count, it does seem that Samsung are losing ground to rivals Nokia, Sony and LG when it comes to digital imaging.. for example the Galaxy S5 lacks optical image stabilisation which is certainly a nice thing to have. There’s also a 2 megapixel camera on the front of the Galaxy S5 for video calls.
This is an LTE-capable device, and it also supports some advanced WiFi features such as 2X2 MIMO and a feature called “Download Booster” that can simultaneously download on LTE and WiFi at the same time. All the usual Android smartphone features are here of course, and in addition the Galaxy S5 supports NFC, ANT+ and has a built-in infra-red controller.
Samsung Galaxy S5
Samsung Galaxy S5 Samsung say that the design of the S5 combines “iconic Samsung design” with modern tastes. In our opinion there is no such thing as an iconic Samsung device.. most Samsung handsets are pretty utilitarian and have the charm of a microwave oven. However, there is an interesting texture effect on the back similar to ones seen on other high-end Samsung devices and the Galaxy S5 does just about manage to avoid being a featureless slab because of this rather pleasing design feature. Available colours will be black, white, blue and gold.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is also waterproof and dust resistant to IP67 standards, something that rivals Sony have been doing for a while. While this isn’t exactly a first for Samsung, it is the first time that we have seen this level of protection in a non-ruggedised device. One other unusual and highly useful feature is a fingerprint scanner
As we said before, the size of the S5 has crept up from the S4, coming in 11% heavier and with an 8% bigger footprint, although the large 2800 mAh battery and bigger screen will account for some of that. Samsung have stretched the battery life out with an “Ultra Power Saving” mode as well which shuts down unwanted functions and changes the screen to black and white (which apparently must have some sort of effect on the power drain of the Galaxy S5′s Super AMOLED panel).
Samsung say that the Galaxy S5 should be available from April 2014 onwards. No guidance was given on price, but the existing Galaxy S4 retails for between €400 to €450 for the basicmodel and we would expect the S5 to come in at a similar price point.

Samsung Set to Launch Apple Pay Competitor
This metal coil from Loop Pay is going to help handset manufacturers compete with Apple Pay. When it is connected to a power source, it generates magnetic field that can communicate with credit card readers. This is the concept ofLoop Pay, the Burlington based mobile start-up founded in 2012.
The Loop Pay accessory looks like a dongle or a case, and can store card data. It can be tapped against a standard card reader to make payments. It can be embedded into different household things, including smartphones!
Samsung is in talks with the firm to come up with its own answer to Apple Pay, according to different sources. If the deal is successful, it will have huge implications on the mobile payment industry, as its reach will be far more than that of Apple Pay!
Apple Pay vs Loop Pay:
Source: Loop Pay Website
The major advantage that Loop Pay has over Apple Pay (or Google pay) is that it doesn’t need stores to installnew equipment and uses existing credit card appliances which will provide Samsung an edge over its challengers. Various sources cite that the fresh cell phone payment solution from Samsung will be introduced in the middle of 2015.
Apple Pay authenticates payments using fingerprint identification sensor present in the new iPhone’s home buttons. Samsung’s new Galaxy smartphones also boast of biometric authentication, which might be incorporated into the new payment systems.
The technology may also be used in conjunction to PayPal’s app to pay using handsets.
For Loop Pay, this deal will be the passport to global mainstream adoption. So far it has embedded the technology to a few hardware products like keychain and dongle and has sold them directly to the customers, but bringing it with a smartphone will be a giant leap for this mobile start-up.
As Loop Pay’s technology mimics a card swipe, it works in far more locations than Apple Pay!
Will Graylin, LoopPay’s CEO, had stated last month that Loop Pay’s technology would be embedded into a mainstream smartphone in 2015 that would have “massive penetration”. He also said that the partnership will also support NFC technology, as the switch from “swipe to tap” will be a gradual one, and swiping is expected to be phased out in a few of years.
If Loop Pay can add tokenization to its technology, it will be a real game changer for the mobile payment industry. Tokenization substitutes a shopper’s card information with a unique placeholder and can be matched up with a specificcredit card account by bank. Apple Pay uses tokenization.
Graylin had stated that Loop Pay is in discussion with firms like Visa to find secure ways of transferring payment data from its device to the retail outlet’s systems.
By the look of things, the system may beat Apple pay hands down!

DO NOT DOWNLOAD the Samsung Galaxy 4 update!
Unfortunately I downloaded the update to my Samsung Galaxy 4.  The original system worked perfectly and was very logical.  This new application is Terrible! The Dialer was difficult to see so I downloaded a Dialer from a different phone system and Trashed the new Samsung dialer.  Then the microphone to speak into so you can call a contact had about 3 steps before it would dial, so I Trashed that and downloaded a Google system.  Now the Favorites has large photo boxes with tiny font underneath - impossible to read the names.  Who in the world has photos of all their service people, other agents and clients who live in other areas?  Unfortunately I'm not able to Trash the favorite application in favor of something more logical.  Now we come to the email system.  I still cannot find the Trash Can for emails that I want to delete.  What a mess.  When you need to cobble together a new system and get rid of an updated system - I'd say that Samsung new application is a DUD!

Samsung Own's CES 2015 #Share
Happy New Year Technology World! The Superbowl of Technology is here. The fabulous annual gathering takes place January 6-9 of 2015 and kicks off the Press Day today, in Sin City, Las, Vegas, NV. Technology has proven, once again, to never disappoint. Technology is always reinventing itself and these are exciting times. The world's first hover board, by Hendo, makes its appearance this year.
UHD TV Market expected to be 1/3 of new TV purchases for 2015, Samsung is leading the pack in ALL consumer device sales. I am a fan. I cheer Samsung on as the are always ground breaking and really attractive to everyday people. They also make themselves accessible to the public instead of trying to create elitist platforms for those who can afford it or want to be in the group like Apple and Microsoft do currently. It is no wonder why Samsung was the favorite coming out this year.
Only 2% of Americans own Smart Home Devices - and educated consumer might know more about purchasing devices that make living easier. This is the attack mission for Samsung and honestly all they have to do is make it widely attractive enough - they have custom designs by Yves Baher for the new curved TV displays. Quantum Dot Nano Crystals (new Nano Technology term) takes the place of the last pixel terminology - we will just say it looks totally real. They look cool and and smart too. That goes right into one of my favorite hashtags, #SmartIsTheNewCool(This is last year's 4K Curved 105 inch Screen) FYI, 4K is already dated because 8K is out already and so is 40K - no kidding.
MILK VR (Virtual Reality) - comes out this year using the Oculus headset experience. I knew when I tried on Oculus that this would revolutionize They are partnering with television shows, as they eluded to by bringing the director for, "The Walking Dead" on the showcase stage during the presentation. This also has its own network that enables you to have daily content updates. This is sort of like a Netflix for virtual content. Brilliant! They went beyond OLED to SUHD TV (Samsung, Stunning, Spectacular Contrast) This this display looks like you can walk into the the screen. That screen can be 105 inches also and is bendable Flat/Curved/Flat, anyway you choose. Like Burger King, you can have it your way.
They developed their appliances for the kitchen with chefs hands on to have theVirtual Flame that will show the heat intensity for the person cooking. This is actually sort of hot, I like to cook. Not sure if I love it more than the maglev cookware, but it sounds really cool. There is some cooking tablet they created which seemed pretty cool, as it was presented by the French chefs.
Everyone is in high anticipation of the Samsung devices for 2015. I have personally waited years for the devices that I know are coming out this year and being released at CES 2015 (hopefully). I have waited for the next Samsung phone that I will purchase because, honestly, I knew it was coming. The last Samsung phone the I purchased was the Nexus. No kidding. I am not the person that is going to go out and purchase a device because it came out. I am the person who worked in the wireless manufacturing corporate office and knows there is another one coming out right after they release this. I don't jump to purchase only to play with them.
This is the year I expect to see the TRANSPARENT phone. The device I have wanted to see for ages. I actually suggested this at Nokia USA when I was there back in 2007. I think I was sort of laughed at, but all the designs I wanted to see are being released this year. Swarovski teams up with Misfit to create the ONLY techwearable the really looks feminine! Someone is paying attention! Bling!
The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6, which honestly, I am almost afraid to get because in three months something even better will be out. This leaks show this weird metal plate for the back of the phone - but I only care if it has the CURVE. When I was at the Oculus booth one of the ladies had a Samsung Curve (not the Edge, even though it is cool). I am hoping the curved device is what will be released this year and the Transparent device. I held it and it bends - that was pretty neat. I hope for both. I would actually spend the money on the roll out if they do release them this year, again, I am just afraid of the upgrade. I am the victim of Nexus. When Samsung released it, I had to have it. The came right behind that and released the Galaxy S series. I was mad so I never did get another. Instead I created my own Phablets (Phone +Tablet).I have multiples of those so now I am really ready for the new release. The phablet devices marry in both spaces so that is much more functional for me. I am really hoping for that transparent device.JIBO - it is time for the consumer ROBOTS to enter the US. Just say YES! JIBO is the consumer bot created by a robotics professor from MIT, a lady named Cynthia Breazeal you have to learn about JIBO. The beginning of the US future in consumer robotics, LATE, but it is a beginning, none the less we are finally catching up. We are making an effort to catch up at least. (I am getting one of these mark my words). #InvestInRoboticsAnother big hit to look for at are these new batteries that charge up in 30 seconds for mobile devices. YES, one step closer to always being charged! Look upSTOREDOT.
LG launched a TWO LOAD washing machine for great time efficiency. I could see people really going haywire about that. People with children might do back flips for that. They should have released that before the holidays. That is a college student's fantasy.
3D Doodle Pens are hot again. They may retail around $100, so this may be the least expensive technology item released in 2015. Draw the world around you, literally.
I am watching this on CNET LIVE so ZTE is up now with a 7 inch phablet called Max Pro Plus for only $199 that runs on Cricket, with an all day battery and a new tablet projector, the X Pro 2. This device seems pretty cool (anti-glare, auto focus, on a 5 screen touch screen display, audio conferencing, video conferencing, wireless capability and more).
Sony's X900 thin 4K television is too thin and dangerously so. Unless there is so unbreakable property - I would not purchase it unless I knew it would not break. It is cute but who needs an ultra thin jumbo screen. I am mad at them for, "The Interview". I decided not to blog about that because I feel like it was a scam. I did love "Annie".
A lot of media are covering this year's CES 2015 LIVE, like CNET.com, Mario Armstrong, BDPA, Bloomberg TV, Endgadget, CNN Technology, Tech Cruch and more - just Google it!
I am Cairo Qween, Tech Socialite and I simply LOVE technology and I am using my digital currency. That is just my two cents!
