It seems there is an app for anything these days. This reality has kept mobile tech red-hot, especially as new markets continue to open up, and innovation marches forward. The business travel arena has been significantly impacted by mobile tech. If you are securing a rental car, looking for a bite to eat at 1 am, or trying to change your flight time, having the right app can make all the difference.
The Top Apps For Business Travelers Publish
It seems there is an app for anything these days. This reality has kept mobile tech red-hot, especially as new markets continue to open up, and innovation marches forward. The business travel arena has been significantly impacted by mobile tech. If you are securing a rental car, looking for a bite to eat at 1 am, or trying to change your flight time, having the right app can make all the difference.
2014 was the first year that I traveled outside of the United States (for business, public speaking, or anything) and my 2015 schedule will be dotted with even more
international destinations. So I asked Stephanie Be (pictured here), the person I go to for all things travel, about the best apps to use. The consummate professional, she works with venture capitalists, celebrities and multi-national brands in every corner of the globe. Her buzz-worthy Travel Break venture, which debuted this year, is already close to an impressive 100,000 subscribers.
As you would expect, Stephanie's guidance has been most helpful. In 2012 and 2013 - whether I was at an airport, train station, rest stop or on the open road - I mostly used 2 apps: Google Maps and Yelp. But the more I traveled this year, the more I started using what she recommended (below): apps offering help with everything from organizing a trip to sending documents. Indeed, travel has become easier and more productive.
1. Concur
With Concur, its not simply about the travel, but the entire experience. You can book your business travel through their website or mobile app, and it sends your expenses to your accounting offices - eliminating old-fashioned invoicing with automated expense reporting.
2. Sign Easy
So, you're 10 minutes away from giving a conference presentation or on a plane en route to a big meeting for your firm, and, you just found out that you need to sign some documents. Well skip the fax and scanner, and sign PDFs and documents in under 60 seconds.
3. Refresh
Trying to connect with some key people and need a conversation starter? How about a mobile app publicist that keeps track of all of the people you’re meeting with. As live events become more important in the digital era, you can effortlessly forge (and strengthen) a connection with Refresh.
4. Wi Finder and Viber
Can’t find the internet? It happens right? There’s an app for that. And, trying to connect with businesses, family and friends anywhere at anytime? Viber makes international calling free with the internet.
