Not everyone is looking to buy an Apple Watch. Android smartphone users are looking elsewhere for smartwatches and there are some great watches on the market ready now to June/July delivery. Too, some say substituting speed and surprise in the market beats strength. Androidwear, and some other versatile OS smartwatches are making a case for surprise in the market, newness and speed of OS. Strength in this case is Apple, but with production problems it has its own, slow to deliver issues. The production estimates for Apple shipping its Apple Watch this year are 20-30 million Apple Watches at maximum production. News from Asia is 15-20 million. (Androidwear last year sold less than a million smartwatches.)

You Prefer Androidwear Not Apple Watch?

Too, some say substituting speed and surprise in the market beats strength. Androidwear, and some other versatile OS smartwatches are making a case for surprise in the market, newness and speed of OS. Strength in this case is Apple, but with production problems it has its own, slow to deliver issues.

Considering the amount of Apple iPhone users on the planet, that's a small percentage of users who may actually get to own an Apple Watch this year. In addition, the screen, thickness, and taptic engine may change with the Apple Watch 2.0.
More on that later.
Android users have a lot more options than Apple users do to wear a smartwatch this year. Half the planet's smartphone users still have Android.
Here are a few smart, smartwatch choices for Android users that are very fashionable, fast, and versatile. My choices for android users who want a smartwatch.
1. ASUS ZenWatch For Android 4.3 or later
ASUS ZenWatch-289$
Recently released this April, the new ZenWatch, is a both a digital smartwatch and lifestyle tracker.  A good-looking tanned-leather wristband with stainless steel clasp, isn't like the rubbery bands of the Apple Sport Watch, or wearing a heavy stainless steel bracelet. If you want to swap out the watch band for another color, it is a standard 22 mm size so that's easy to do. Battery life isn't long, only 8 hours. The rectangular, AMOLED 1.63-inch display face is big, with a stainless steel case and a fashionable rose gold-colored band in the middle giving the watch a dressier look. A Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen on the watch offers a scratch resistant surface for durability. The ZenWatch pairs with any mobile device running Android Wear 4.3 or more, and offers its own set of ASUS apps with over 100 of them offering to change the face of the watch depending on mood of the user. The health tracking options on the watch feature an accurate heart rate monitor that you access by simple touch on the bezel. It's easy to use.
The ZenWatch  case is also thinner than the Apple Watch with a height of just 7.9 CM. The ZW wakes up with a movement of your wrist quickly, then swipe the face east west, north or south to navigate the screen, get texts, emails, access functions etc. It buzzes you when you have alerts, reminders, emails or texts, and you can speak into the watch face mic with replies or commands to launch apps like Google Maps.
This from ASUS: features on the watch include several exclusive apps such as "Unlock My Phone, which turns the ZenWatch into a universal key that lets wearers quickly unlock their phone by tapping the watch face, and Cover to Mute which lets wearers mute an incoming call by placing their hand over the watch face." 289$ available on Google Play, and Bing Lee.
2. Olio "Model 1" Works with both Android and Apple iOS- 595$
Model 1 -Sleek Roundface Smartwatch
The Olio Model 1 is the company's first smartwatch product, and it is scheduled to ship to customers in the June/JulySummer of 2015. It isn't a crowdfunded project like Pebble, Olio is a smartwatch company who's founder worked for Apple.
I like the looks and versatile OS options, along with the sleek thinner round face design and large display.
Olio's Model 1 Smartwatch hits it off the fashion runway with supermodel quality good looks and technical versatility - (featured pic above) Made by a product designer and several engineers from Apple with a UI designer from Pixar, this round face sleek design, thinner smartwatch works off a cloud based system so alerts are faster. Good with iOS and Android, stainless steel case, crystal face, Olio's Smartwatch price range- 595$-750$ as pre-ordering begins now- “This shouldn’t just be a derivative of your phone,” said Olio founder and CEO Steve Jacobs. “Our philosophy is it should be a watch.”
Two greatlooking Androidwear smartwatches to buy this year, while you decide if you want the new Apple iPhone coming out this fall with a new flexible screen and the new Apple smartwatch. That is if you can get delivery to wear it this year.
With Androidwear you can wear a smartwatch this year.
