In the right corner we have Tony Stark.
A child prodigy born to immense wealth, Tony grew to become a gifted engineer and tech wunderkind. He inherited his father's multibillion dollar company and continued the family business of weapons design and sales. Naturally he grew up to be a pompous ass (as in donkey not posterior, we have to consider the kids tuning in) until he hit a particular turning point. During one of his routine arms deals he got attacked and kidnapped. The ordeal, in a touch of irony, led to shrapnel from one of the explosives he designed piercing his chest and getting lodged close to his heart. This turn of events humbled him and made him realize that there was more to life than a hedonistic existence. This led to the birth of IRONMAN which gave birth to the AVENGERS which then became a billion dollar franchise owned by the Walt Disney Empire.
In the left corner we have Robert Downey Jr (RDJ for short)
Also a child prodigy who got into acting at the tender age of 5 thanks to the efforts of his thespian parents. Having a career spanning over 45 years he has received 2 Oscar nominations (no wins yet, Leo Dicaprio you are not alone) and numerous other awards. As he rose in stardom, he sunk into the depths of drug abuse having being first introduced to it by his father at the tender age of 7. The wings of his talent could no longer bear the weight of his habit and he finally hit rock bottom. Coming to a turning point of his own he submitted himself to Rehab. Coming out, no director would touch him with a ten foot pole. The promising star's shine seemed to fade until he came across Jon Favreau who was looking for someone to play the role of Tony Stark. Agreeing to take the job (even agreeing to be paid less than half the salary of his co-star Terrence Howard) led to him to becoming IRON MAN which led to the rekindling of his career which made him into a multimillion dollar Hollywood juggernaut.

"Aren't they the same person?"
The answers to these questions depend on who you ask, and for the sake of this post we'll be asking HTC and Samsung.
HTC is currently running a $1billion ad campaign using RDJ to promote their premium smartphones. Currently he has been the Celebrity attached to the HTC M8 in 2013 and M9 in 2015. They recently released a set of 10 video ads for the M9. Samsung on the other hand has released a limited edition IRONMAN customized Galaxy S6 Edge to tie in with the recent release of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Both brands are using the power of celebrity endorsement to drive awareness and sales for their flagship devices. But who is winning this battle?
