For those of you that have the iPhone bug, you'll be eager to hear about the much anticipated iPhone 7 that will arrive in 2016. Let's have a look at what we might expect from Apple and the iPhone stakes this year...
1. Two New Models - Possibly Three!
We anticipate that Apple will release an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7S in September 2016 and in addition to this, the rumour mill is currently suggesting that Apple may also release a third model - a smaller version (4-inch) that could appear before September, maybe as early as the spring.

2. Substantial Redesign & No Headphone Jack
Leaks from Apple have been fuelling the rumours that the iPhone 7 range will have a completely new physical design becoming the thinnest iPhone to-date. This can only be achieved by dropping the headphone socket from the device since the jack needs to be a minimum of 3.5mm in diameter. Dropping the headphone jack is likely to be very contentious to those that invested in good quality wired headphones although we suspect that a 3.5mm to lightning adapter will become available. It will mean that you can expect Apple to ship Bluetooth headphones with the phone instead of the usual wired in-ear headphones they supply.

3. Battery Life & Wireless Charging
Let's face it, you'll never get an iPhone with a battery life that will last a week or even more than a day or two. Battery technology has improved over the years but it hasn't developed as fast as our hunger for better screens and more connectivity, both of which are battery hungry. In the iPhone 7, we can expect a battery that might be marginally better than the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus but whether it will be enough to notice, only time will tell. Wireless charging is also on the rumour mill although this will require some considerable changes in the iPhone internal design as well as the materials used in the case so it is possible but we don't know how likely this is to appear in the iPhone 7, maybe the iPhone 8.

4. Even Higher Screen Resolution
Apple released the iPhone 6 Plus with a Retina resolution of 401 pixels per inch and all other iPhone 6 models including the 'S' range, contained displays operating with a 326 pixels per inch resolution. It is possible that Apple will extend the 401 pixels per inch resolution to all versions within the iPhone 7 range as well as employing a stronger screen material.

5. Say Goodbye to 16GB
We suspect that the iPhone 7 range will only come in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB which means 16GB will be no more! Considering the amount of apps, music, videos and pictures everyone stores on their phones nowadays, this move makes complete sense.

6. USB-C port?
Ok, so the iPhone lovers who remember investing in lots of accessories for the original 30-pin connector just before Apple switched to the lightning port will probably boil their blood if Apple switched this again to USB-C so this may come in the future but probably not yet even though this now exists on the new 12-inch MacBook.

7. Better Waterproofing
There isn't much information available about the level of potential waterproofing being applied to the iPhone 7 design but it is possible that dropping it down the loo may not necessarily write off your iPhone 7... we'll just have to wait and see about this one!
